Photos & Videos - Rouge/Orleans

Our inspirational and ever-positive driver Alanna VanKommer, William Albritton, and Josh Clayton on the Mississippi River levee in Baton Rouge near the U.S.S. Kidd, Friday March 4th at around 7:30 p.m. just before the 8pm canon firing that started the Rouge Orleans Ultra Marathon Relay to New Orleans.  Ignorance is bliss.
Will on the levee at about mile 78.
Camp Avalanche:  All the comforts of home.
Le Dog d' Le Bocage
Le Bocage, just after sunrise on Saturday March 5th.
First use of the cell phone by a runner:  "Alanna, this is Josh.  Wake up Will and see if he can feel this *&^%&$*#*& gravel through those thick running shoes he's been wearing.  Seriously, I can't run on this &*^% anymore, and I'm never running on this God-forsaken levee again.  Could you please drive back here and give me those shoes?"
Enduromaxed to the maxx, borrowed compression socks (thanks Horatio), playlist cued up, wet Inov-8s, and ready to embark upon my fifth and last solo run of the race.  Happy because the remaining miles of the levee are rumored to be (thank God) PAVED.
At the finish, 4 a.m. Sunday, March 6th, Audubon Park.
I have no idea what's in this stuff.  The consumption of Enduromax carries with it a brief sense of guilt, especially when you're not tired after 30 miles of running.  The guilt eventually gives way to happiness, then morphs into a craving for more Enduromax.  Yeah, I don't want to know what's in this stuff.
We would have taken a picture of all 3 of us . . . but we were the only 3 souls in the park at 4 a.m.
Final solo run complete.  That deserves an Arbor Mist.
2008 Kayak Trip:  hottest 2 days of the year, worst thunderstorm of the year.  Grasslands 2010:  torrential rainfall, temperature drop of 40 degrees, sleet, snow.  Rouge/Orleans 2011:  a couple of rainy days (not so bad in comparison).
Oh, you want an orange mesh reflective sleeveless half-shirt?  Sure, we have one right here -- you'll (of course) want to pair it with some scarlet-red baggy-legged running shorts.  And some green shoes should really tie the outfit together.  You're gonna look fantastic out there!  Don't forget your headlamp!

Camp Avalanche sprang a leak during the rain storm.  On my shorts.  The air mattress is wet but it's not my fault.

CrossFit people like to get photographed doing handstands in cool places or while doing cool things, but not to show off.  A photograph of a handstand serves the purpose of identifying one's self as a CrossFitter.  Who goes to cool places.  And gets photographed.  Doing a handstand.
